Avoiding a changing removal list
Photograph the final pile when practical. If more items are added after an enquiry, send an updated list before collection is arranged. Describe furniture that still needs to be taken apart and whether you are requesting help with that task.
After decorating or refurnishing
Keep packaging separate from old furniture and describe decorating waste. Paint, adhesives, tiles and plasterboard need to be identified rather than hidden in mixed bags. A quote should be based on the actual materials and quantity.
Carpets and offcuts after a room refresh
If flooring is part of a Crofton clear-out, describe carpet, underlay and hard flooring separately. Say whether they are already lifted or still fitted, and give rough room dimensions if you cannot estimate the amount. Do not assume that taking up flooring is included in collecting waste. Packaging from the new floor belongs on its own line in the inventory, rather than hiding all the different materials inside one description of decorating rubbish.
Send one current version of the inventory
When a project changes, explain which earlier items have been kept and which new materials have appeared. A series of photographs without that context can count the same pile more than once. Use a final list for the work you want assessed now and note any further phase you are only considering. For an address also described as Petts Wood or Orpington, keep the same full collection postcode throughout the enquiry.
